    The band was founded in 1972 under the baton of Enrique Andréu Romero. The band school, currently with 20 students, was also founded at the same time. Between 1979 and 1980, Félix Ramiro Izquierdo led the band; and the current director of both the band and the school band is Manuel Tomás Gil. Under his leadership the following prizes have been won.

    The band frequently plays in many Spanish cities including Madrid, Barcelona and Tereul. Special mention must be made of the band's experience in accompanying ballet and complex audio-visual concerts that incorporate music, images, and light.

    The band has over 100 musicians and a school with 14 teachers. Some 450 society members support the band.
