The band began just six years ago when retired musical aficionados from towns in the area of la Ribera, south of Valencia city, decided to start their own band. Most of the members are around 65, and were professional musicians with orchestras or town bands before retiring. The total age of the group is now around 3.500! Many of the members are children of musicians and have musicians as children.
It has enjoyed tremendous success in Valencia and the rest of Spain - thanks to the support it receives from the towns in the area
Among the band's directors have appeared Francisco Grau Vegara, director of the Band of the Spanish royal guard, and Enrique García Asensio, director of the orchestra of Radio-Televisión Española.
