In 1995, the band celebrated its 140th anniversary by publishing a book entitled 'Storia della Filarmonica Sestrese' by Tito Tuvo. Three years later, the band recorded it first CD with 12 fragments of music ranging from opera, classical, jazz, and film soundtracks. The band has performed many homages to Verdi, and organized the Verdi International festival in the Teatro delle Feste in the old Genoa port area in June 2001.
