Band profile

The band made it debut performances as the 'Ensemble de Vents' at the Valencia Palau de la Musica in June 2001. After its first presentation, the band appeared at the Valencia July Fair and then successfully toured Corfu, Thessaloniki, and Athens.
The band is made up of students with an average age of 18. Its repertoire consists of pieces written for wind and percussion instruments.

Director profile

Ferrer Ferrán is a composer, pianist, and director. He is professor of composition at the Castellon conservatory, and professor of composition, orchestra, and accompaniment at the Valencia professional conservatory. He is also director of the Valencia professional conservatory, the Banda Primitiva de Paiporta, the Banda Juventud Musical de Quart de les Valls, the Banda de la Asociación Cultural Allegro, and the Allegro Centro Musical. He is a member of the association of Valencian composers and a member of the world association of symphonic bands and ensembles.
He written many pieces for chamber groups, choirs, chamber orchestras, and symphony bands. His works are regularly premiered by prestigious groups and published by Piles, Ab Música, Rivera, Combres in Paris, and Molennar in Holland. Some of his works have been selected as obligatory pieces in important international competitions. Most of his compositions are available on CD.
He has directed the Orquesta del Conservatorio Superior de Música de Valencia, the Agrupación Musical de Tavernes Blanques, the Unión Musical Santa Cecilia de Moncófar, the Unión Musical de Villar del Arzobispo, the Centro Instructivo Musical de Mislata, the Agrupación Musical la Primitiva de Xátiva, and the Asociación Cultural Fray J. Rodríguez-Pintor Cortina. He is founder director of Brass-Band of the Agrupación Musical de Tavernes Blanques, and the Orquesta Clásica of the Centro Instructivo Musical de Mislata. Since 1996, he has directed the Banda Primitiva de Paiporta.
He was born in 1966 and qualified at the early age of 15 in piano, percussion, chamber music, and accompaniment. He has performed numerous concerts throughout Spain as a soloist; and as a member of a chamber group he has accompanied internationally renowned soloists. He works closely with many Spanish symphonic orchestras and has won many important prizes - including the Young Spanish Musician award. He has a diploma in teaching and choral directing from the Summer University of Esztergon in Hungary; and in composition and directing for wind orchestras from the board of the Royal School of Music.
