In 1852 the Societat Unió Musical Alberic was founded, directed by a teacher with
musical notions. It participated in the first edition of the Certamen de la Feria de
Julio de València in 1886, it obtained the third prize, and since this year, it has done
so in other editions, obtaining first and second prizes in the One and Special B

Many conductors go through the history of the SUM Alberic. Special mention to "El
Mestre", Emilio Mínguez Martínez, a native of Alberic and conductor of the band for 25
years, participating in different editions of the Certamen de València.
The SUM Alberic has professional musicians spread throughout Spain, who collaborate on a
regular basis. We highlight the figure of two great musicians who passed away in recent
years, Mario Vallés Torres and Miguel Iborra Climent.

Cullera in 2004, obtaining the award for Best Band of the Contest. In 2005, it
