The Unió Musical «Centre Històric» de València was born from the initiative of a group of people who feel the need to provide the Ciutat Vella neighborhood with a music band, which fills squares, festivals and events in this neighborhood.
It has a staff of more than 40 musicians, boys and girls of various ages united simply by the passion for music.
Since December 2015, when the band made its presentation concert in the Real Parroquia de los Santos Juanes in Valencia, they have been present in most of the festivities in the city of Valencia, such as Fallas, Semana Santa del Cabañal, Vicentinas festivities, San Juan Bautista, festivities of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, Moros y Cristianos parade of Valencia, among others.
In June 2017, it participated in the "Music Day" organized by the Junta Municipal «Ciutat Vella».
Since June 2018, it belongs to the Federación de Sociedades Musicales de la Comunidad Valenciana.
In September of 2018, it participated in the 34 Festival de bandas de música de Náquera and in October the Junta Municipal «Ciutat Vella» recognized the cultural work carried out in its brief existence.
In December 2018, the band offered its first concert in the Sala Iturbi of the Palau de la Música de Valencia, paying tribute and naming maestro José María Cervera Collado as Honorary Director.
Also in December, it participated in the "Música a la Llum" Congress, performing works by Valencian composers, in the Claustre de la Nau.
Since the 2018-2019 academic year, it has its own Music School where it trains the next generations of musicians, located at CEIP Cervantes, C/ de Guillem de Castro 153, Valencia.
In 2019 it won the 3rd prize in the Ciutat de València International Band Competition, and in 2022 the 1st prize in the same competition.
He began his musical studies with his father and with the Jesuit Roberto Hurtado at a very early age. As a horn player, he studied with Carmelo Romaguera, Bernat Batiste, María Rubio, Juan Pavía, until moving to Cesena (Italy), at the Conservatorio Statale «Bruno Maderna» with Professor Luca Benucci.
He has attended masterclasses with internationally renowned horn players, such as Dale Clevenger, Stefan Dohr, Stefan De Leval, Sara Willis, German Bauman, among others. He has been part of the Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid and Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, collaborating with orchestras such as the Filarmónica de Málaga, Santa Cecilia Madrid, Teatro alla Scala Milán, among others.
He began orchestra conducting studies with José María Cervera Collado and Pascual Balaguer, taking workshops with professionals such as José Pascual Vilaplana, José Miguel Rodilla, Carlos Garces, Francisco Melero, Manuel Hernandez, and Hilari Garcia.
In 2016, he obtained the First Prize in the Concurso Nacional de dirección de orquesta «Ciudad de Requena». In 2017 and 2018, he also won First Prize in the Concurso de dirección de la SM Santa Cecilia de Cullera.
He has been invited to conduct the Unió Musical de Llíria, the Joven orquesta de Granada, the Orquesta Filarmónica de Requena, the band and orchestra of the Sociedad Musical «Santa Cecilia» de Cullera.
From 2014 to 2018, he was assistant conductor of the Orquesta Filarmónica de la Universitat de València, with Hilari Garcia as principal conductor.
Since 2015 he is the artistic and musical director of the Unió Musical Centre Històric de València. In 2018 he was a finalist in the contest for assistant conductor of the Orquesta de Valencia.
In 2019 he was the winner of the young conductors program at the Palau de la Música, leading the Orquesta de Valencia as associate conductor.
In 2022 he won 1st prize in the Ciutat de València International Band Competition with the Unió Músical Centre Històric de València.
