    He was born in Silla near Valencia in 1973 and studied at the conservatories of Valencia and Murcia – graduating in trumpet, musical theory, transposition and accompaniment, composition and instrumentation, counterpoint and fugue, harmony, as well as piano teaching. He obtained three honorary mentions from the Conservatorio Superior de Valencia; third prize in the ‘Isaac Albéniz’ association chamber music competition in Murcia; a composition diploma of honour from the eighth TIM in Rome; and the ‘Ciudad de La Laguna’ choral composition prize. He is currently reading composition, musicology, and choral direction under R. Ramos, J. Mª. Vives, and E. Cifre.

    He has undertaken advanced composition studies with B. Ferneyhogh, R. Liñán, L. de Pablo, P. Guajardo, and C. Cano; as well as directing studies with E. García Asensio, P. Sánchez Torrella and M. Hernández Silva, and trumpet studies with G. Touvron, M. Benterfa, Á. Millán, D. Prosser, J. Willbraham, and V. Campos.

    His compositions have been played at the Festival Internacional ‘Aujord'hui musiques’ in Perpignan; the XV Festival Internacional de Orquestas Jóvenes de Murcia; the VII Festival Internacional de Metales of Verona, Vicenza, and Mantova; ‘Serenates Musicals’ in Valencia at the IX, X y XII Encuentros de Compositores in Valencia; the Certamen de Bandas de la Comunidad Valenciana (1999), and the XXII Encuentro Coral ‘Ciudad de La Laguna’. He has been commissioned by Valencia council for the Certamen Internacional de Bandas ‘Ciudad de Valencia’ (2001), as well as soloists: G. Touvron, J. M. Gómez de Edeta, E. Chuliá, A. Cambres, V. López, M. Miján, S. Herrero, and D. Bourgue. One of the trumpet works written for D. Bourgue was selected as an obligatory piece for the 23rd competition. His works have been interpreted by the Orquesta Ciutat d'Elx; the Orquesta Sinfónica del Conservatorio Superior de Murcia; the municipal symphonic bands of Madrid; Valencia; and Pamplona; as well as the quintets Luur Metalls and Iberbrass; the quartets Español de Trombones; Ars Musicandum; and Equale. The Spanish Brass Luur-Metalls has recorded a commissioned work and his works have been recorded for Radio France, Radio Clásica, Cadena Ser, R9, and TVE. Some twenty of his works have been published in Paris (Gerard Billaudot and Internacional Music Diffusion); in Bulle, Switzerland (BIM, Brass Bulletin); in Valencia (Piles); and in Murcia (Mariano Bo). He is a director of COSICOVA (Valencian Association of Symphonic Composers) and a member of SGAE.

    He was director of the Banda Sinfónica del Conservatorio Superior de Murcia, and since 1995 has been director of the Banda Sinfónica de la Sociedad Artístico-Musical de Picassent. With this band he has appeared in various occasions at the Palau de la Música in Valencia; the L'Auditori in Torrent; the Altea Certamen; the Vienna and Innsbruck festivals; and the eighth ‘Ciudad de Murcia’ contest, where the band won first prize. He has also directed the instrumental group ‘Tetragrama’. He taught trumpet and piano at the following conservatories: Profesional de Soria; Superior ‘Manuel Massotti Litte’ de Murcia; and the Municipal de Silla. He currently teaches at the IES ‘Enric Valor’ in Silla.

    He was solo trumpeter in the Orquesta Internacional of the XXV Festival ‘Music Meeting’ Espinho-94 (Portugal); the Orquesta de la Región de Murcia; and the orchestras of the Conservatorios Superiores of Valencia and Murcia (performing in Milan, Udine, Craiova, Bucharest and Graz). He is a member of various chamber groups and in 1995 performed as concert pianist in the Valencia Palau de la Música.
