      The band was formed in 1921 under the leadership of Félix Soler - a local schoolteacher. Despite a difficult start the band was firmly established by 1928. Many townspeople took a leading role as players and presidents in the early days including: José García Pastor, Ricardo Bolinches, Miguel Esparza, Vicente Tortosa, Serafín Martínez, and Ferran Miralles y Martínez.

    In the last decade the band won two third prizes in the Valencia provincial competition and Cullera; as well as four second prizes in the Valencia International Music Band Contest and other competitions in Valencia and Requena.

    The band currently has 61 musicians with an average age of 23. It is supported by 375 society members and has a school, called 'Miguel Esparza', with nearly 100 students.
