Ferran Josep Miralles i Martínez

     Ferran Josep Miralles i Martínez, was born in 1960 in Llosa de Ranes, Valencia. He started his musical studies at the age of 11 at the Sociedad Musical 'La Primitiva Setabense' in Xátiva; later he continued at the Conservatorio Superior de Música in Valencia where he finished his saxophone studies in 1980. He then took advanced studies with Pedro Iturralde and Daniel Defayette, and at the same time, began studying directing under Eduardo Cifré Gallego - choral and instrument professor at the Conservatorio de Valencia. He has also studied with Enrique García Asensio (O.N.E.), Bernardo Adam Ferrero, and J.M.Cervera Collado.

    His double bass studies began with Rubén Giorgis (double bass soloist with the O.S.M.) and he is a member of the Ciudad de Alzira orchestra, and the Banda de La Primitiva Setabense.

    He has composed pieces for various instrumental groups ('Impronta' for a metal septet; 'Variaciones no concertadas' for piano and percussion), as well as transcribing for bands ('Overture' G. Bizet).
