    Formed in March 1861 and one of Valencia’s oldest bands – having formed an uninterrupted part of Benisano’s social and cultural life for more than 140 years.

    After various changes in name and an internal split, it was re-organised and given its current name in November 1942.

    Its school of music has produced numerous teachers, many of whom now play in the most prestigious orchestras, bands, and conservatories throughout Spain and abroad.

    The band’s many awards include a first prize in the ‘Campo de Criptana’ national band contest in 1974, and under Javier Barberá Gálvez, a first prize in the third section of the Valencia Music Band Contest 1997, and in the same competition, first prize in the second section in 1999.

    The band’s long existence has been made possible by the active role played by innumerable residents over the years. The band currently has 65 musicians.
