Agrupación Instrumental "Harmonia", de Boqueixón (A Coruña)

    José Luis Represas Carrera was born in Xinzo de Ponteareas in 1970 and began his studies in the town youth band and Vigo music conservatory. He studied saxophone and directing under Pedro Pirfano and Enrique García Asensio.

    He taught choral music and Galician bagpipes at the Conservatorio Superior de Música in Vigo and saxophone at the Escuela Municipal de Música in Corunna. He directed the Bandas de Ponteledesma, Santa Cruz de Ribadulla, Salceda de Caselas, and Muimenta de Lalín.

    He founded the chamber group ‘Reveriano Soutullo’ and currently directs the Banda de O Rosal. He won a place as saxophone soloist in the municipal band of Corunna in 1990.

    As well as teaching throughout Galicia, he composes Galician music with Ernesto Campos.
