HISTORY OF THE BAND

Trøndelag Ungdomskorps was founded in 2001, holding its first rehearsals on 27 October of that year. This year we are celebrating our tenth anniversary.

Trøndelag Ungdomskorps represents our region of Norway and is made up of young musicians who are 15 to 22 years old. Potential members must audition to join the band and if they are successful they gain a place for two years after which time they must re-audition.

Since its foundation, the band has competed twice in the World Music Contest in Kerkrade, in 2005 and 2009. In 2006 we took part in the National Championship for Norwegian bands and won first prize.

As the band represents a region, its members are spread out over a wide area and so are only able to practice four times a year. This presents a challenge, but it is one that our highly-skilled, hand-picked musicians are well able to face.

Trøndelag Ungdomskorps is an ambitious band that strives to always give its best and then better it.
