Daniele Carnevali

    Daniele Carnevali was born in 1957 and graduated in trumpet and band orchestration at the Conservatorio de Parma. He then studied choral music and directing at the Conservatorio de Bolonia.

    He has always alternated between playing the trumpet with various orchestras and teaching at the conservatories of Parma and Módena. At the same time, he has composed several award and nomination winning pieces for bands.

    He has been invited to direct some of Italy’s most important bands and was named director of the following bands: Banda de Sabbioneta (1978-1982), Banda de Parma (1984-1988), Gran Banda Representativa de la Federación Trentina (1990-1994), Banda de Albiano (1993-1997). He founded the Banda del Conservatorio de Trento, where he has taught band instrumentation since 1987.

    He is currently director of the Trentino Wind Band (TWB) – which is formed of fifty musical graduates. He has directed the band in many concerts and recordings, and won first prize in the prestigious Valencia International Music Band Contest in 1998.

    He was artistic director of the first four Certamen Internacional de Bandas de Música Flicorno d'Oro held in Riva del Garda. He is a frequent jury member in Italy and abroad. He also organises conferences and symposiums with internationally known composers such as Ander Waignein and Jan van der Roost.
