    The band was formed in 1980, under the direction of Salvador Verdú and the presidency of Pedro Carpi Bañó.

    The current director, Eduardo Arnau Moreno, took over in 1986 and the band began its most fruitful period with the creation of a music school.

    The band entered the Alicante provincial competition for the first time in 1993 and won second prize in the second section. It won first prize in the ‘Vila de Teulada’ pasadobles competition in 1995, third prize in the second section of provincial competition in Mutxamel in 1996, and first prize in the second section of the Valencia International Music Band Contest in 1997.

    The band currently has 65 musicians, a school of music with 100 students, a string school, instrumental groups, and from this year, a computer room for young students and teacher training.

    All of these activities take place in the band’s own building, which was built in 1992 and includes an auditorium with a capacity for 100 players and 350 spectators. The band also boasts its own cine-club.
