Once
again the calendar says we have a new appointment with one
of the most genuine musical festivals of the year. The performances
of the bands that have met here at this new edition of the
International Bands Contest of Valencia will allow us to take
the pulse of a cultural and artistic reality of the very highest
standard which we from Valencia share with other countries.
This event has become a reality because of the high priority
that the Valencian Government gives to it within its cultural
policy.
Far removed from any kind of frontier, the most universal language
that man has been able to develop will unite both Valencian
performers and those from other countries. A perfect union
that few arts are able to provide thereby confirming the true
dimension of the work of the music bands and associations over
and above conversation and the spreading of music.
The history and prestige of this centenary meeting guarantee
the quality of the aesthetic and auditory show that our guests
will surely offer to all Valencians who come to the capital
of our Community on these days. A community that has become,
through its love, an age old event and a standard for hospitality
and that passion which, without a shadow of a doubt, is that
that best shows our identity to the rest of the world.
