Isabel Urrutia

Isabel Urrutia's works have been performed in various cities in Europe, the Americas and Asia such as Bilbao, San Sebastian, Madrid, Weimar, Turin, Paris, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Tokyo and Seoul.

They have been interpreted by internationally-renowned musicians: ensembles such as the ARCEMA Paris Ensemble and the Arditti Quartet, and orchestras such as the Basque National, the Spanish Radio Television Orchestra, the Galicia Symphony, the Tenerife Symphony, the Bilbao Symphony and the Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic of Poland.

She has given classes and lectures about her works in Europe and the Americas: in Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Argentina, Chile and Mexico, among others.

She has won national and international composition prizes for her orchestral works, such as the Spanish Association of Symphony Orchestras' (AEOS) prize in 2007 and First Prize in the Grazyna Bacewicz International Composer Competition (Poland) in 2012. In 2010 she was chosen to represent Spain in the UNESCO International Rostrum of Composers.

Isabel Urrutia is currently Vice President of the ARCEMA Paris Ensemble and teaches harmony and counterpoint at Musikene, the Higher School of Music of the Basque Country.
