    Gaetano Alicata was born in 1963 and studied music, composition, and directing in the Bellini conservatory in Catania.

    Between 1980 and 1993, he played in many bands and orchestras as a horn soloist.

    He has taught in conservatories, directed many bands, including the l'Ensemble Netum, and he is currently director of the municipal music school and band in the city of Noto. He also teaches music and chorus at the O.M. Corbina institute in Syracuse.

    While directing the Noto municipal band, he has achieved notable successes in local, regional, and national competitions.
