Triuggio Marching Band

Triuggio Marching Band

HISTORY OF THE BAND

Founded in 2004, Triuggio Marching Band is an Italian group of young people sharing a strong passion for music and the will to entertain its audience both through music and movements.

In fact, not only are the components players, but they are also "dancers", helped by the colourful colour guards with their spinning flags.

TMB's repertoire goes from classical, opera pieces, such as "William Tell" by Rossini or "Nabucco" by Verdi, to contemporary international pop and rock songs, like for example "Smoke on the water" by Deep Purple, "Pretty Fly" by the Offspring and "Call me" by Blondie.

In spite of its young age, TMB has taken part in many national events and competitions, such as the Italian Marching Band Championship, and has also travelled a lot through Europe, performing in France, Germany, Denmark and Czech Republic.

Its last trip, in January, took TMB to London, where the group performed at the famous New Year Parade.

BIOGRAPHY OF THE CONDUCTOR

Paolo Colombo

Paolo Colombo is Triuggio Marching Band's Drum Major and Band Director.

He graduated from the "Giuseppe Verdi" conservatory in Como, in 1996.

Before graduating he had been a member of different "traditional" bands as a Clarinet player. After his degree he became a teacher of those bands' music schools, specialising in wood winds.

In 2004 he was the main promoter and one of the founders of Triuggio Marching Band; since then, he has been the Drum major and Band Director of TMB.

Paolo also collaborates with the Italian Marching Show Band (IMSB) association in the project Marching Band Junior. This project aims at developing the marching Band movement in Italy by teaching elementary school children movements that they need to perform while playing basic musical pieces.
