PERE SANZ

Pere Sanz studied at the Valencia Superior Conservatory of Music where he specialized in percussion and graduated with distinction. He undertook post-graduate studies at the Neopercusión Studies Center in Madrid while also completing his training as a conductor and composer at the Allegro International Music Academy under the tutelage of the prestigious composer and composer, Ferrer Ferran.

His works "Marta Agustín", "Bastaixos", "Música al vent", "Enhorabona, mestres" and "Santísima Virgen de la Soledad" have won first prizes and commendations at composition contests both in Spain and abroad. They have also been chosen as compulsory and free-choice pieces for numerous national and international contests. His music for wind and percussion ensembles has been premiered and performed in renowned concert halls as well as recorded on various CDs.

Pere Sanz has been guest conductor for many wind bands all over Spain. He is the principal conductor of the "Unión Musical de Coruxo" Wind Band (Vigo) and the "Santa Cecilia" of Albocàsser Wind Band (Castellón); as part of his role in the latter Association, he is also the General Coordinator of the National "Vila d'Albocàsser" Composition Contest.

Since 2003 he has taught at the Castellón "Mestre Tàrrega" Professional Conservatory of Music (Spain). He is also the principal conductor of the Wind Band of the "Societat Renaixement Musical" of Vinalesa (Valencia). He divides his time between these activities and composing, writing pieces exclusively in response to requests and commissions from different music associations and ensembles such as the "Societat Renaixement Musical" of Vinalesa, the Sociedad Musical "La Lira" of Vilafamés, the "Els Majors" Wind Band of L'Horta Nord, the Asociación Comparsa Cristiana "Els Ermitans", the Asociación Filà Mora "Ibn-Al-Abbar", the AETYB (Spanish Tuba and Saxhorn Association), Tulam Duo (Marimba & Vibes) and the "Vert" Clarinet Quartet.
