JORDI PEIRÓ

Jordi Peiró Marco was the Trombone Soloist of the Vallés Symphony Orchestra (Barcelona), and trumpet player for the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra. He has taught Trombone, Euphonium and Tuba at the Conservatories of Benidorm, Mutxamel and Teulada (Alicante). He has also conducted the Wind Bands of Pedreguer, Benetússer and El Palmar (Valencia).

He has composed numerous chamber works, but his greatest output is in the field of music for wind ensemble. His main works are:

"LA FLOR DEL CEREZO" for Wind Orchestra and Euphonium (Tuba F soloist) which won First Prize for Composition in 2015 from the AETYB (Spanish Association of Tubas and Euphoniums) which was debuted by the Torrent Conservatory Orchestra, conducted by Fco Amaya in the Palau de la Música of Valencia;

"MUNIPHONIUM'S" nonet for Tubas, Euphoniums and Percussion, premiered by the Valencia Municipal Band.

"LA BATALLA DE LA ROCHELLE", chosen as the obligatory piece for the final of the 2016 Valencia Regional Wind Band Contest.

"EVEREST", a symphonic poem for wind band, chosen as the Division One obligatory piece for the 2017 International Wind Band Contest "City of Valencia".

"AL-BUHAYRA", recently premiered by the El Palmar Wind Band.

His works have been performed by great soloists, in renowned music festivals such as the Spanish Brass 2017 "BrasSurround" festival, and by professional bands and ensembles such as the Huelva Municipal Band. His compositions are published by Branfor and Colección Spanish Brass.

He composes music for cinema with various short films and full-length features in his repertoire. He is currently writing the sound track for LUCES which will premier in the fall.

He is a member of the SGAE, MUSIMAGEN (Association of Audio-visual Music Composers), and the VALENCIAN ACADEMY OF MUSIC.

He currently teaches the VALENCIA MUNICIPAL BAND.
